Did you install any third-party software recently? 3. What error message was received when trying to open the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap? Based on my experience, this problem is caused by the stopped Windows Firewall Service. 1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK. 2. Double click Windows Firewall. 3. On the General tab, in the Startup type box, click Automatic, and then click Apply. 4. Click Start, wait for the progress bar to complete, and then click OK.
