error creating system restore windos 7
I'm getting this error when I try to create a restore point: "The restore point could not be created because the shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the specified operation. Please try again." I keep getting this message. the erroe message i get with the message is 0x8004231f i now have no system restore pionts. i'm defraging my comp as it is at 50% fragmented i'm hopeing after fragmentation it will be fixed. i've looked all over the net for help with this problem and i have checked all my registry keys. i don't know what the problem is please help me

Please launch services.msc from Start Search box. Double click on the “Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider”, set the startup type to “Automatic”. If the issue still occurs, temporarily disable antivirus and check the result. If the issue persists, please run the command “vssadmin list writers” and see if there is any mistake report for any VSS writers. If the problematic writer is from third party program, please remove the program and check the result again.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
