error code 0x80070035
First, I'm really green with the computer stuff. I know a little, but I read thru the other forums and I don't understand some of it. I'll apologize ahead of time. So, I set up my main computer for networking according to all the wizards. OS=Windows XP. I have a laptop that runs Vista home. My main computer (which I've renamed) shows up on in my network, but when I try to connect, I get the error message error code 0x80070035 network path was not found. All I want to do is share files and the printer.Any info would help, and again, I'm apologizing now for my computer illiteracy.

Hi, Thank you for posting. Based on my research, I would like to share the following: 1. Ping the computers with each other by IP Address and computer name to see how it works. Access Windows Vista computers share with both \\computer name\folder and XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX\folder to see if they are works. 2. Ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on both computers ==================================================== 1) Go to Control Panel - Network Connections. 2) Right-Click on the connection and click Properties. 3) Find Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4 in the list. 4) Click Properties, and then click Advanced. 5) On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to WINS tab. 6) Under NetBIOS setting, click Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, and then click OK. 3. Please ensure the firewall on both computers are set the enable File and Printer Sharing. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hello, I have a problem to connect between my laptop into pc in a network (LAN). My laptop using vista home basic, and pc using xp professional. My laptop can access the internet in LAN through wireless, pc using wired for the internet connection, and I'm using a gateway too. I tried to ping the pc from my laptop, it's reply within 2-3ms, but when i try to access my pc, from start>run and then type my ip : \\192.168.x.x or directly to my pc name, it's appear network error message : Windows cannot access \\192.168.x.x Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click diagnose. See details : Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found. And when I click diagnose, it said : Windows confirmed that this computer cannot connect to "192.168.x.x" FYI, my laptop using avast! & pc using kaspersky for the AV. But for the reason of connect my laptop to pc, I stop all programs that indicate to stop the connection, avast!, windows defender and windows firewall. I also try to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. But it's still zero, I can't connect my shared folder in pc. Anyone can help me, please. Tq in advance.
