error 623 - System could not find the phone book entry for this connection
This error 623 box pops up often when I'm online and it is annoying as heck. It is a "network connection error" and it states "cannot load dialog". I had tried a microsoft "fix" which I found on the microsoft help site, but it was not helpful. It stated that my computer was trying to dial a number for the VPN connection. But I do not have a VPN connection and none is listed under my network connections. Please help!1 person got this answerI do too

Hi Crudblue. There is a KB detailing this issue and the workaround. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/320693To work around this issue: Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections. Click Network Connections. Right-click the VPN connection, and then click Properties. Click to select the Dial another connection first check box, and then click the appropriate dial-up connection. If there are no dial-up connections to select, you may have to create a dial-up connection and repeat these steps. If your VPN connection does not require a dial-up connection, click to clear the Dial another connection first check box, and then click OK. Hope this helps! Shawn, thanks for replying. Since I could not find any VPN connections in my Network Connections list, and tried a couple of things. I deleted several unused connections and also deleted an Outlook reference. So now the error 623 popup message no longer occurs.
