willdoak2,You would be best served by starting another thread about this issue rather than tacking on to someone else's thread since their system's issue has nothing to do with the one that your system is experiencing.0x80200053 The application requested data from a web site, but the response was invalid.1) Has this issue previously occurred with the updating of the Windows Malicious Software Removal ?2) What is the installed antivirus/security suite; does it contain a firewall or is another 3rd party firewall being used ?3) Was anything detected the last time the system was scanned with the installed AV ?Try a manual installation of the MRT - Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) x64 Download and save it, do not choose to run it.When the download completes close all open programs and browsers. Now run windows-kb890830-x64-v3.13.exe to install this month's release of the MRT and it should be able to scan the system unless the installed security software or, possibly, hidden malware, is preventing it from running.MowGreen Windows Expert IT Pro - Consumer Security
