Windows Mail is a Vista program and does not run in XP. Please ask here and be sure to copy/paste any error message you get in your post.Vista Networking, Email and Getting Onlinehttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/threadsBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Your subject says this is a new provider. Can I assume this account never worked? Did you type this error message in here or copy/paste?Have you triple checked your PW for spelling? Remove it and type it back in. Even an errant space can cause this.I use Cox on the west coast myself. Have you called their tech support and asked them about this? Perhaps resetting your password? They are very good and there 24/7. 1-800-221-4188.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
