ehome driver problem
I ha this posted in the MediaCenter forum but went unanswered and was ask to post it here, so here goes. I have a HP9300T media center PV, I'm dual booting Vista and Win7. The remote control that came with it works with Vista VMCbut not win7 7MC. Device manager in win7 shows a ehome driver problem, I told it to go find new a new one, this still does not work. I can not find any HP drivers information for this. Has any one else had or resolved this. I love this remote, It,s the only one the wife can use.

Have you tried loading the ehome driver in Vista compatibility mode?

HiThe ehome driver is installed automatically with the OS as it finds the device. I also have an HP media centre pc and the ehome device has always loaded ok in XP, Vista and Win7.In Win 7 the ehome driver is a microsoft driver version 6.1.7000.0 dated 21/06/2006.If this is the driver you have loaded then it suggests it may be a hardware problemis something otherthan driver related.Hope this helps

If it's any consolation I am experiencing the same issue. I have an HP M9300T that was running Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. It was updated today to Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and my remote no longer works. I doubt it's a hardware issue as it was working fine this morning before the upgrade. I currently have and "Unknown Device" in the in the device manager that I suspect is the infrared receiver. Uninstalling it to see if would reinstall properly after a reboot was also unsucessful as well. Let's hope the solution is not to far away.

I had the same problem with my win7 32bit PC. One day my infrared receiver stopped working. It is a Microsoft P/N X600684 Model 1040. I tried it in all 6 USB interfaces. the all said " unknown device". After several days of trying everything I could think of... even rolling back to Vista where I know it worked before, but no dice. I finally reloaded win7 with SP1 loaded, plugged it into the front USB header and it immediately recognized it. For the heck of it I added an additional USB PCI card... plugged it into that, and that worked fine also. Go Figure?
