eFax messenger error cannot find JSDVWSDK.DLL each time I open IE
Hi,I tried to install a 3rd party fax reader program, I didn't know it was not compatible with Win 7 64 until after. Now each time I open IE I get the following error window:eFax Messenger PlusJSDVWSDK.DLLCannont find this file. Please verify that the correct path and file name are give.So far here is what I have tried:1) I tried copying the JSDVWSDK.DLL file from ..Windows\SysWOW64 into ..\Windows\System32 maybe I should have registered it, but I did not and it made no effect so I removed the file back out of System322) I uninstalled IE8 rebooted, re-installed IE8 and that also had no effect. There appears to be a lot of other people with this problem, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Please help, it is anoying. The only thing I found was that people said they worked around the issue by using FireFox.What should I try next?thanks

What your report does not state is whether you uninstalled or attempted to uninstall the third party fax program. An the answer to that is ???? Does this third party fax program show up on a list of installed programs?

Hi Thanks for the response. I don't think it ever showed in the list of installed programs so I can't uninstall it.

Ok everyone I followed the instructions from the manufacturer and it worked here they are: In order to resolve your issue, you need to uninstall your messenger completely. Please follow these steps to uninstall your Messenger: 1. Click on Start and select Control Panel. If you are on Windows 2000, click on Start, Settings, and then select Control Panel. 2. Click on Add or Remove Programs. Please Note: Ensure that you Back up your Address Book Contacts before proceeding; otherwise, any contacts added via Messenger to your Address Book will be lost. 3. Select j2 Messenger and click Remove. 4. The Goodbye Screen will appear. You will be asked to select a reason why you are removing j2 Messenger. Please select a reason from the list and press OK. 5. A status bar will appear and displaying the uninstall process. 6. When the uninstall is complete, click OK. Please Note: If you have applications open during the removal process, you may be asked to Restart your computer to complete the uninstall process. Please make sure you have Saved your work before beginning the uninstall process. Advanced Options: To completely uninstall j2 Messenger, you should first run the uninstall program above. Please Note: If you are prompted to restart your computer after the uninstall program runs, do not restart. Next, remove any of the following components that still exist on your system. If you're unsure of how to delete a particular component, try right-clicking on it. IMPORTANT: Modifying Registry entries other than those specifically listed here can cause permanent damage to your Windows operating system. If you are not experienced or comfortable with using Registry Editor, you might consider skipping the steps below. 1. Go to Start, then Programs, and delete the j2 Messenger folder. 2. On your Desktop, delete the j2 Messenger shortcut. 3. In your My Documents Folder, delete the j2 Messenger folder. 4. Go to Start, then Find (or Search), then Files or Folders. Search your C: drive (or a different drive if you installed Messenger elsewhere) for j2view.* and delete all matching files. 5. In the same way, search for and delete the following files: hotres32.dll, j2drv.drv and hotsend.drv. 6. Go to Start," then Run. Type regedit and click OK. Browse for and delete the following keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\J2.COM HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\j2 Messenger HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\j2 Global Communications HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HotSend HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HotSend Email Attacher HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\J2.COM HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\j2 Messenger HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\j2 Global Communications HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HotSend HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HotSend Email Attacher HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Send with eFax Messenger HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Send with j2 Messenger After you have deleted any of the above components that were present, you should restart your computer.

Hello. This did not work for me. I have Win7 64-bit. I got to the Registry Editor (up to #6 above) but I could not locate and delete the keys that you mention.
