dwm.exe, media center and winsat crashing because of ntdll.dll
Hello! Since 1,5 month i have the problem that my media center crashes when going to or from full screen mode. Afterwards dwm.exe crashes. According to eventviewer this is caused by the ntdll.dll file. When i run the Windows system performance test, the application crashes too - cause ntdll.dll I updated to new drivers, i went back to the standard windows 7 drivers. I installed 6 month old drivers, nothing cures this problem. Except when you are in safe mode, media center does not crash. Maybe this is a hint for anybody? I tried to replace the ntdll.dll with the one of a friend who has also Win7x64 but i cant because i don't have the trusted installer user rights. My configuration Intel Q6600 4GB Ram nvidia 680iSLI board 2x 8800 GT Here are the logs: Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: Dwm.exe, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5bc541 Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: ntdll.dll, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5be02b Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000005 Fehleroffset: 0x0000000000035346 ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0xc3c Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01cae45fda4d0090 Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exe Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Berichtskennung: 1959d6f0-5053-11df-b4aa-00044b09b44d Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: winsat.exe, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5bc551 Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: ntdll.dll, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5be02b Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000005 Fehleroffset: 0x0000000000035346 ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x12c4 Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01cae45f8597d250 Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Windows\system32\winsat.exe Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Berichtskennung: df3ee690-5052-11df-b4aa-00044b09b44d Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: ehshell.exe, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5bd053 Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: ntdll.dll, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5be02b Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000005 Fehleroffset: 0x0000000000035346 ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x1174 Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01cae45f7e725a90 Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Berichtskennung: c0226c50-5052-11df-b4aa-00044b09b44d. Please check your RAM for errors (download Memtest86+ and run it for at least 4 hours)."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi mechtildbeidl, If the issue reoccurs, you can try restoring the system to the date before the issue first occurred. Also, update the display card driver to the latest version to check the result. You can reinstall the display card as well: 1. Click the Start Button, type Device Manager in the Search bar and press "Enter". Click Continue if necessary. 2. Double click to expand the Display adapters. 3. Right click the display card and click Uninstall. 4. Restart the computer. 5. Run Windows Update to download and install the driver. If the issue still exists, use System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files. Besides, you can debug the issue yourself by reading the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging Hope this helps. Regards, Linda

HI, the system file checker does not find anything. I have tried different video card drivers, also deinstalled the cards, rebooted, and installed again, without any effects.

I have the exact same problem. WMP has some error that are not being trapped. I really wish Microsoft would test their software.
