duplicate IP address and no network
Ive installed a Vista machine in my test forest and I am having some DNS problems I hope you can help with. Ipconfig reports a duplicate address for the adapter, yet the IP is statically assigned and there is only one. Ive tried clearing the dns/arp cache and that does not help, Ive also found and deleted all host records for that duplicate address, and I still cannot find a way to get rid of this duplicate address. In addition, the machine shows it is not connected to any networks, yet it has active domain membership. Ive enabled network discovery and I can see/ping/connect to all servers in the forest and vice-versa, but it still reports as not connected to any networks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No DHCP. IP addresses are statically assigned. I assume that the .200 duplicate is an address that the OS picked up while installing and before I configured tcp/ip. I have removed all references to this address for this boxin DNS - yet it still appears in ipconfig on the box. It appears to be related to other problems where I cannot get it to show a network and if I try running the automated diagnostics, they either tell me there is nothing wrong, or tell me I don't have a wireless card configured and I should do that. Well, I don't have a wireless card configured and I don't need one.
