dual boot with windows 7 and windows xp
Hi, I am new to this forum. Currently I am a student in computer network and IT, My question is about updateing the MBR to so I can boot into windwos 7 or windows xp, windows7 is currently installed on my system, the reason for the dual boot is because the college I am enrooled is still using xp. I have done some research and people say I need to use a third party software to that. If do wich one would you reccomend, please help, it would be appreciated very much. Oh one mmore thing I am not sure which catagory this fits. My email is rfbaseump@msn.com

You can use the XPMode if you still need to run older software. So you get rid of the installed XP."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

You could choose to use easyBCD to edit the bootloader or alternatively run BCDEDIT in command prompt under adminstrator. The former is much easier and straight forward. If you install win xp on a computer with win 7 already installed, it'll remove win 7 bootloader and use its own instead. But if you follow the guide here and run easyBCD you should be able to add Windows XP to a system that already has a newer version of Windows installed and thus having dualboot. Link
