Poper way is to install the older OS firstSo you would install XP and then windows 7 (that way windows 7 knows about XP and sets up the bootloader

Hi David,Was XP pre-installed on your PC when you purchased it or did you buy the XP CD yourself? If it was preinstalled then you should have recovery disks to return your PC to factory conditions (see your PC manufacturer's manual). If you have a full retail version just put the XP CD into your CD rom and reboot you machine ( see this link from my website http://www.winuser.co.uk/windows_xp_faq/85_how_do_i_install_windows_xp.htmlJohn Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;
