driver_power_state_failure
Hi, I have the same HP Notebook dv6t-2000, quad and the same problem (driver_power_state_failure). The notebook gets into BSoD in 7-10 min if I try to restart or place it in sleep. (Here is the event message, the same as a case posted above Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 1000009f BCP1: 0000000000000004 BCP2: 0000000000000258 BCP3: FFFFFA8003D0EB60 BCP4: FFFFF80000B9C510 OS Version: 6_1_7600 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 768_1 ). This appears to start to happen after I ran my Windows update a week ago. I tried to read the mini dump file using the debug tool. But it does not provide enough info ********************************************************************* * Symbols can not be loaded because symbol path is not initialized. * * * * The Symbol Path can be set by: * * using the _NT_SYMBOL_PATH environment variable. * * using the -y <symbol_path> argument when starting the debugger. * * using .sympath and .sympath+ * ********************************************************************* Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+77dda ) Can I upload the dump file for some to take a look? Thanks. Li

Since Windows system uses separated user mode and kernel mode memory space, stop errors are usually caused by kernel portion components, such as a hardware device, third-party drivers, backup software or anti-virus services (buggy services). Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Boot the computer in Clean Boot for a test. 2. Temporarily disable all unnecessary hardware devices in Device Manager, such as Modem, sound card or external device. For detail steps, we can refer to the link below: Device Clean Boot 3. Run antivirus program and perform a full scanning. If the issue persists, please upload the minidump file (%systemroot%\minidump) to SkyDrive ( www.skydrive.live.com ), then share the link to us.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. The BOSD issue can be caused by many different factors, such as the drivers are not compatible with win7, BIOS settings are incorrect, and so on. It’s better to upload your Minidump log to your public folder in the SkyDrive for analyzing. Please don't contain any personal information in it.At the same time, you can try the following suggestions to troubleshoot your issue.1. Update the BIOS and drivers for your laptop, you can get them from the following link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4063&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4011366&lang=en2. Test your machine in safe mode.3. If your machine works fine in the safe mode, please test in Clean Boot, you can refer to KB929135. I hope this can help you. John
