download windows 7 updates to update windows 7 offline (not a question)
Hi, hope it helps for offline users Microsoft releases regular updates for operating systems to keep the systems updated for latest threats. If you are running your system on Windows 7 with proper internet connection, Windows 7 should have been getting updated in a regular basic using Windows Live Update. But if you dont have proper internet connectivity and still want to keep your Windows 7 updated, you need to download Windows 7 offline updater. Windows 7 offline Updater is a pack of all Windows 7 updates. All you need to do is download Windows 7 updates pack using a internet connected computer and then install it on your system. You can also call it Windows 7 standalone update installer (.msu) which will be containing all Windows 7 updates till its packaging. http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/1/8/21882BD3-3A97-412E-B506-38AA763A9F45/Windows6.1-KB973525-x86.msu --- update rollup for actvex killbits http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/E/1/1E1FF996-BAE3-48E6-9A53-0AA42E901069/Windows6.1-KB974431-x86.msu --stability and realiability update http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/E/6/3E625544-FCC4-4B39-A9CA-26466D9E875C/Windows6.1-KB974571-x86.msu --windows cryptoAPI http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/6/2/962B5C7B-B1BA-47E9-922E-7A1B4C2FB548/Windows6.1-KB975467-x86.msu --Local security authority subsystem service regards NIKHIL

Please elaborate on the Offline Update Process for Windows 7. My Desktop has no Internet available and is running Windows 7 Ultimate 63bit. My Laptop has WiFi and accesses the Internet regularly and is running Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I wish to update my Desktop with my Laptop.

I also really need to know how to update Windows 7 offline. For security reasons, I can't cannot a laptop to the Internet except for the initial install and patches. I will need to keep this laptop up to date in patches without connecting it to a network again, so will have to burn them to a cd and install them from it. I also need to do this only using Microsoft products (no 3rd party options). Heath

Download the udpates with WSUS Offline Update and run DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\updates (replace C:\updates where you stored the updates). André"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Thank you Andre. I had to change my update file path to get this to run in cmd For some reason DISM did not like digging 7 files deep and it took me a while to just move the updates

Hi Andre, More questions, if you could answer. I was able to update my offline machine through DISM. However, I didn't lie how the updates did not display when I looked at the "Installed Updates" section in Programs/Applications. The only way I have had success in having that occur updating my offline machine is by running the Standalone updates 1 at a time. Do you know of a way to have all of the most recent updates installed in packages just as it would using Windows Update? There seems to have been a Windows Update Agent for use with XP. However does not seem to have been updated by Microsoft for use with Vista or Windows 7. Here's a couple links that I read on WUA http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa387290%28v=vs.85%29.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/?id=927745 Thanks

When i integrate the updates with DISM they are shown in the list. Check the DISM.log if errors occurred while integrating the updates."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" Want to install RSAT on Windows 7 Sp1?
