No, you may not download and install a copy of Windows 7 for free! It is totally ILLEGAL to do so!Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I suppose that by "download", you mean "install". You may activate Windows 7 on as many PCs as you have purchased licenses for. Unless you bought the Family Pack, it's one PC. There is nothing that physically prevents you from installing a retail copy of Windows on as many machines as you desire. (It's what Microsoft calls casual piracy. It has been a violation of the license agreement for all versions of Windows.) The WPA (Windows Product Activation, introduced with XP) system won't allow you to activate more than one at a time. Windows 7 will only run for 30 days without activation.

I do have a product key How do I download Thabks for the answer dom scaturro If you want to download Windows 7 you will have to go to https://www.microsoft.com/windows/buy/default.aspx and purchase it. You will have to purchase the product and then you will receive an Activation Key and a link for the download. You cannot use the Activation Key on your laptop to install Windows 7 on another computer. The are no free downloads open to the public. This is exactly the same rule that's been in effect on every version of Windows starting at least with Windows 3.1. Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP
