domain login with win 7
I have one Win xp , and one win 7 workstation where were connecting to the same workgroup and fine to share all the resources, after I had added a win 2003 server with the domain, I was able to logon Win xp box to the domain, but not Win 7.. which is family version... i know it has a very little networking features ... then I am not able to access win xp box from win 7 but it works on the opposit direction ... although I created one organization unit, I added both computers names to the same domain and group in that domain, I used same users accounts ... but I am still unable to access win xp box from win 7 ... although under the domain I can see both computers names

Hi, Firstly, please understand that Windows 7 Home Premium has no Domain Join feature. However, although your Windows 7 cannot join domain, your Windows XP and Windows 7 computers should be able to access the share folders of each other with proper settings. Therefore, please check following: 1. Make sure that pings between Windows XP and Windows 7 work fine. 2. Make sure that the share folder on the Windows XP computer has assigned proper permissions. 3. Can you access Windows XP via UNC path, such as \\Shared PC\Shared folder or \\IP Address\shared folder? If not, what error message do you receive? And, have you tried the build-in troubleshooter? And you can also try accessing it from other computers and see how it works. 4. Based on my knowledge, this kind of issue may occur if you set Group policy and IPsec to block PCs outside domain to access the internal resource. Please check that in your Windows Server side. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
