I am trying to connect to internet using static ip given by my isp. When I fill the ip address and dns server address in ipv4 properties and click ok.And i check it back.. Vista again picks some default garbage dns server addresses.I tried to do netsh interfave ipv4 on command prompt using admin previledgedelete dns "Local Area Connection" allbut it did not delete the dns addressesi tried to do several other things available on net but nothing seems working out.Can you please explain what could be the problem. And what is the file/place which store the default dns addressesI am facing the same proble as this guy is facinghttp://channel9.msdn.com/forums/Coffeehouse/453208-Vista-DNS-Server-will-not-commit-settings/Default.aspx?lc=1033

Hi, Thank you for posting. I suspect there are some third party software conflicts with your operations. At this time, please boot the system to Safe Mode with Networking and check how it works. Meanwhile, please let me know if you use any dialup software to access the Internet. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
