Hello,
If all of your icon shortcuts point to the same executable, sounds like it's time for a system recovery or reformat.

Rocky
You have given us very little to go on.
You may have associated "exe" with that particular application. Can we assume the torrent client is trying to open everything?
What Troubleshooting have you done thus far?
Please provide MORE details re your current problem.

Hi,
I would like to confirm whether all the .lnk files cannot be opened.
Have you changed the default to open the .lnk file to another program?
Go to Start>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Find the .lnk and see if you have assigned a program to open it. The default is Unknown application.
If the default have been changed, you can perform the following steps to repair it:
Click Start Menu, and then type regedit in the Start Search and press ENTER.
Navigate to the following registry branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.lnk
Click on the arrow to expand it and delete the sub-key named UserChoice.
Exit from Registry Editor and reboot the computer.
Before modify the registry keys, please take a backup of the key. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry,
