hi im having this problem with my desktop gadgets i will try to explain with detail. my imap desktop gadget for weather opens up with microsoft office word. when i clicked on my area link it brought me to the msn weather page but know it doesn't. plus when i click on get more gadgets online link it opens up in microsoft office word. when open at the top it says read only. how can i switch it back to open with the internet? need some answers.

Do you mean that the office word will be opened when you click "Get more gadgets online"? Does the Internet Explorer work normally? You may restore the gadgets. yes office word does open when i right click and then scroll down to gadgets and click on it. when that is open i navigate to the "get more gadgets online" i click on it and it opens in office word. My internet explorer works normally but i always use the Firefox browser. i tried restoring the gadgets with the method you offered nothing changed. it still opens up with office word.

it seems that setting the internet explorer as default worked, and also i had the internet explorer 8 so i updated it to the 9th version. when i click on the get more gadgets online it brings me to the Microsoft webpage to the gadget section. but unfortunately they no longer host the gadget gallery so i cant get the imap weather gadget i uninstalled.
