Dell systems come with built in PSA diagnostics. You can boot to them by tapping on <F12> at the Dell splash screen and choosing diagnostics from the boot once menu. Do the diagnostics run?

If the system has recovery image or recovery partition you can restore your system to factory default state. If you have Windows 8/8.1 installation disk you can go ahead with refresh, reset, or restore .

Hi,

We hope your issue has been resolved by S.Sengupta's suggestion.

If you cannot find OS from hard disk, try boot into Windows PE with a Windows media, see if system could be found from Windows PE. If it is, try perform a startup repair. If even Windows PE cannot, it is possible that caused by hard disk failure and please consider replacing your hard disk.
