deleted downloads folder
The function is in the browser you are using, which will, of course, depend on which particular one. IE9, for example, (My current browser) if you click the small gear (far right on the toolbar) and select "View Downloads" and then choose "Options", you can change the download destination. In your case Username - Desktop - Named folder Firefox is even simpler as it gives you a direct choice in the options. David Clarke

To whom it may concern: I put "My Downloads" folder(not the shortcut) on my desktop and accidentally deleted it (cant' find it in trash) so I made a New one, however all that I download ends up on my desktop. How can I get it to go into the replacement folder? Thanks oxford

When you download a file, you get a dialog box showing what folder the download will go into. The next time you do a download, in that dialog, browse to the folder you want the download to be in and click OK. That folder will then remain the default for future downloads (unless you change it again). By the way, my recommendation is that you do not put anything on the desktop other than shortcuts. That way you will avoid the risk of accidental deletion. Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP
