default gateway is gone. and i suck at computers
well my default gateway disappeared. i looked at similar questions and it said to pull up ipconfig and change the number. well my ipconfig won't stay open. it closes immediately after i pull it up. i continued to find the solution by pullind up my CMD
and typing in ipconfig where do i go from there?? i need some help really badly and my patience are getting slim to none :/

there are 3 basic options:
-server acting as DG is down
-HW problem in connection to DG
-ypour ISP has changed the DG
By running ipconfig in cmd windows you can get address of server
your PC thinks is DG.
Try commands
ipconfig /release
and then
ipconfig /release ( kind of refreshing DG address in case you use DHCP autonetwork configuration )
then run ipconfig without parameters to see if DG address changed
try run
ping "default gateway IP address" ( dotted number )
to see if DG answers....
if still doesnot work, check if you have set DHCP autonetworkconfiguration.
For this you need administrator privilege:
In control panels
centrum of network and sharing ( guessed naming, having localized W. )
Show status
Properties
Protocol TCP/IPv4
Properties
Set IP address automatically from DHCP server
