Download and run HD Tune -freeware version (not HD Tune Pro)http://www.hdtune.com/download.htmlMonitor number of bad sectors. If they steadily increase replace the hard drive. What is the hard drive make and model? http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htmHope this helps, Gerry Cornell
