crash/reboot when accessing shared folder
I have a clean install of Vista and ran into this problem recently when setting up a new vista laptop. When I access the shared folders on the vista laptop OR when the vista laptop accesses my shared folders, my computer crashes and reboots - no warning, no popups. the laptop has no issues. I experienced this same problem again this weekend but this time it was a mac laptop trying to grab a video off of my vista machine, again, vista crashed and rebooted. I'm using the latest via drivers (vista supported) for my chipset and ethernet, so i dont think its a driver issue. the router is a linksys compact G wireless router with the latest firmware. i've scoured the error logs and the internet and can't find any solutions. in addition to this, when transferring files from my vista pc to my ubuntu pc, the "calculating... " window pops up, my second core usage jumps to over 90% and everything just hangs there...a few files will transfer but eventually my computer disconnects from the network completely and freezes upon trying to restart. this only happens when trying to network (once when trying to ftp using html-kit). any suggestions?
