could not download windows 7 - tried 2 different PCs
I managed to get to the pagehttps://connect.microsoft.com/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?SiteID=704&DownloadID=15861&wa=wsignin1.0however, nopop up or any indication to let mechoose to allow downlaod nor install activex. I have gone as far as disabling popup blocker,I logged in as limited user on a vista PC with ie7,once I added the site to trusted zone, I got the info bar. however allowing the install would require administrative password. As far as Iam concerned, this exactly defeats the securitydesign and principal. A user should be allow to run activex in his local environment from trusted zone wihout impacting to others on the same pc albeit he shoudl be pompted for the isntall. The user should not be required to get admin authority to install globally for the entire PChopefully windows 7 get this right and the rest of the developer teams from microsoft will keep this in mind when requiring user to install activex

Hi gg8The link you posted is incorrect. Here is the link you want to use. Look at the bottom of the page for the download links.Windows 7 Beta Customer PreviewYou will also need to use an Administrator account in Vista to download and burn the Windows 7 installation file.Despite your comments about the security in Vista, it is behaving exactly the way it was designed. By default,a Standard user cannot make global changes tothe system. Windows 7 is designed to work the same way, and this will not be changing.Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP
