copy to is slow but copy to is slow
i've tested this a few times with different file sizes and it always ends up the same.2 windows 7 computers on a gigabit network.when i copy a fileTO the other computer the transfer speed is very slow. between 2MB/s to 10MB/s.when i copy a file FROM the other computer the transfer speed is alot faster. averages 50MB/s.it doesnt matter what computer i'm on, it works both ways. both computers are doing this from a fresh install of windows 7 with nothing else installed.

Hi,First your title doesn't agree with the include text.I tested this on a gigabyte network and both ways from both Windows 7 computers averages greater than 50MB/s. well i guess the only thing i can think of is that the drivers for my nic (i use whatever windows 7 loads) isn't mature or something. i'm using the onboard nic. are there any suggestions you can give me so i can better try to fix this problem then? i've reinstalled win7 on both computers and it is still doing the same thing, horrible copy speed when i copy TO another computer but fast when i copy FROM another computer.

What motherboard/NIC are you using? i don't know offhand the model number of one of the computers but it's a generic foxconn running a celeron. i use this one just to hold data.the other one is an evga x58 sli with an i7.both are using the onboard nic of which i'm using whatever driver windows 7 recommends me to use via windows update.the tests that i did were only copying large 1-10gig movie files.

You should either uninstall the driver from device manager and let it reinstall, or download the latest from the manufacturer's website.
