converting basic disk to dynamic - not an option
Hello. I found this article (KB 314343) and attempted to convert my hard disk to a dynamic volume so that I can extend it to use the unallocated space. I followed these instructions:Convert a Basic Disk to a Dynamic DiskUse the Disk Management snap-in in Windows XP to convert a basic disk to a dynamic disk. To do this, follow these steps:Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-clickComputer Management. In the left pane, click Disk Management. In the lower-right pane, right-click the basic disk that you want to convert, and then clickConvert to Dynamic Disk. I got stuck at this point, because when I right-clicked that disk, "convert" was not an option. Is there another way to do this without having to buy software? I tried using Acronis Disk Director, but it won't do anything over 100 MB with the trial version. The computer is running XP Pro. Thank you.1 person needs an answerI do too
