Did you make sure no files or programs running while converting FAT32 to NTFS?Close all programs and make sure nothing running from D:\ partition to make the process a success!convert drive letter: /fs:ntfsFor example, type the following command to convert drive D to NTFS:convert d: /fs:ntfsCopy and paste the command above to your C:/> prompt and Hit Enter. It may be need to reboot for the conversion to be completed.Let me know your progress.nass -- http://www.nasstec.co.uk

Convert fat32 to ntfs is very simple. You will find the solution I linked below. Hah, in addition, I think know something useful information related (likeconvert ntfs to fat32) is necessary, too. So, share with you. We can solve such problems together.

Read http://www.aumha.org/a/ntfscvt.htm because there's animportant issue regarding cluster size that isn't obvious. If you runconvert with first reading and following the advice here, you run thebig risk of hurting your performance substantially. 2. The page says "you cannot convert from NTFS back to FAT32 withoutlosing data as all of Windows has no tools that can do this."That is not correct. It is true that "Windows has no tools that cando this," but there are other third-party tools that can do it.Ken Blake

Hi Ken wonder if you can help? I too an converting a Fat32 disk to NTFS. I have Windows Vista and have DOS running as an Administrator. I assign the volume label that the disk currently has and hit enterThe response is "Cannot convert d:. The volume is write protected."My goal is to make a 320GB disk available as a spare HDD (it is in a case and connected to my laptop via USB)
