Have you tried system restore to go back to a point in time where everything was working ? It is in the start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. I'd choose an older restore point, and not the most recent. As far as antivirus, use Microsoft's own security essentials, available here, ; "http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/". Then visit this site for the best free tool that works best with the security essentials: "http://www.malwarebytes.org/". Do the full scan the first time, after the update, then use the quick scan option afterwards, say once a month or so. The two of these are better than most, if not all, of the for-pay ones, and won't hog your system resources, either ! I use and recommend them myself, and have had no problems- I even use the malwarebytes one to remove crapwares from the systems of friends and customers who pay for their supposed protection from "Norton" and "Mcaffee" !"http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/default.aspx/". This is MICROSOFT'S new, FREE, fully automated, anonymous support portal, which can help users resolve windows and other product issues with a few mouse clicks. BOOKMARK THIS SITE, EVERYBODY !!!

Hi, Uninstall both webroot spy and antivirus sweeper to check the result. Can you connect with 32 bit IE? First, let us troubleshot the issue in IE without add-on mode to check the result. 1.Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If your browser appears to be working properly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, continue with the following steps to help identify which add-on may be causing the problems. 2.To isolate the specific browser add-on that is contributing to the issue, you can use IE’s Manage Add-ons feature to pick specific add-ons to disable: a.Click Tools -> Internet Options. b.Click the Programs tab, then Manage add-ons (see figure below): Note: The Manage Add-ons option under Tools is disabled in No Add-ons mode so you must go to Internet Options, Programs, Manage add-ons to manually enable/disable add-ons. c.Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. d.Click OK, OK again, OK again and then close IE. 3.Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved. a.If it is, you should uninstall the specific add-on via Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs or the applications own uninstaller. b.If the problem persists, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 until you have identified the specific add-on causing the problem. Tip: Disable several add-on’s at once to speed up your process of elimination. If the issue persists in no add-on mode, refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 to reset IE. Meanwhile, I would suggest install Microsoft Security Essentials to protect the system from being infected with virus.
