connecting 'XP virtual machine' from Windows 7
Hi I'm a complete novice when it comes to pc virtualization and networking. I have recently purchased Windows 7 Professional edition which comes with Windows XP 'Virtual PC'. I would like to access (ping over tcp/ip) the XP guest from host and vis-a-vis. I would like to do it over office netword or in stand alone mode. Is that possible?

Needless to say that my knowledge on Windows networking is rudimentary at the best. I reviewed previous discussions on this topic and I couldn't follow them completely.

Hi, I would like to tell you that it is possible. but by default, the XP Mode uses virtual PC NAT, so you have to change the XP Mode network setting to use your host's NIC. then you can ping the XP guest when you open the XP ICMP feedback.
