connected ethernet cable - now laptop won't work without it
I have three computers connected wirelessly with my linksys WRT54G router. All the computers were working fine wirelessly. I was trying to get my laptop to share files so I plugged an ethernet cable into it and connected it with the router. I connected an ethernet cable to the computer I wished to share files with also and plugged that into the router. I couldn't get sharing to work so I unplugged both cables. The laptop (running Vista) will now only connect with the ethernet cable plugged in. The computer from which I removed the other cable connects wirelessly ok. The Network and sharing center shows "multiple networks" now. Network (Private Network) Access Local and Internet Connection Local Area Connection Network2 (Public network) Access Local and Internet Connection Local Area Connection Unidentified Network (Public Network) Access Local Only Wireless network Connection (linksys) Something I changed trying to get sharing to work has probably done the damage. I am at a loss to know what to do now. Can anyone help me get my laptop to connect without the ethernet cable?

Disable wired network adapter on that laptop, after that try to connect to wireless network. You could take a look on this wireless adapter configuration in Windows Vista article to get more ideas too. Hope this helps.
