computers no longer able to connect to the internet
I have two computers. Wired network. they used to both connect to the internet but started dropping the connection to both sometimes. would have to pull out the power to the router and reconnect to get it going again. I was told it was my router so I got a new one...now it won't connect at all! I have to run the cord straight from the modem to one computer to connect to the internet.the error I get is that it can't assign the IP and can't connect to the network. I tried another router from work that I knew was working but it doesn't work eitherany Ideas?1 person needs an answerI do too

HiWhat type of connection you have and how it authenticates (ID and PW)?Can you connect to the Router's interface via a browser (read the Router's manual)? To check the computers http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html Jack, MVP-Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET

What kind of router do you have? Some brands need to be configured with the included CD to connect to a modem.
