computer shuts off after 30 minutes, tries to restart but fails
My Vista computer shuts off after exactly 30 minutes as if power is gone. It tries to restart but fail again n again. Finally i have to turn off computer by pulling the power cord from the electric outlet.
After 30 minutes it allows to restart in "Normal Mode" for only 30 minutes. Same thing in "Safe Mode".
Suspecting Virus I start scanning the computer, it shows some viruses, but scanning takes more than 30 minutes, so the scanning does'nt complete & computer shuts down
I have this Desktop Computer ( Dell Inspiron 530s ) since 18 months. Before a week my computer made a big fan noise and shut itself down.
I cleaned the Chasis & Cpu Cooling Fans. I even placed fresh thermal paste between cpu & fan. Computer ran good for one day and then the above mentioned problem started
Event viewer shows Event ID 6008 & Locale ID 1003 every time it shuts off
Event ID is 6008 & Locale ID is 1033

Click on "Start" then go to "Accessories" followed by "System Tools" and then run the MSDOS program followed by "CHKDSK /r"
Insert your restore CD if errors are found and not fixed by the check disk function listed above. Turn your computer off and then back on. You'll be asked to hit any button to boot from your CD; press any key. You will then be asked if you want to install
a fresh version of your OS or "Repair" a current copy. Choose the "Repair" option and allow the computer to go through the necessary steps.
After the repair function has run, turn your computer off and then back on. Wait and see if the computer shuts down again. If it does not shut down, your computer's restore function has fixed the file, which was probably caused by a bad system file.
