have multiple networks and subnetworks. was able to search a pc by ip number across networks in xp but win 7 won't see other networks. so if i search for xxx.xxx.xx1 that is in network 3 from network 1 in xp i just search for pc with xxx.xxx.xx1 and it will find it and i can access any shared resources. in win 7 it only stays in the netrwork that is is phisically attached to . how do i search other networks like in xp??

Hi, Is the Windows 7 machine in a domain? Actually, the Search function in Windows 7 is the same in Windows XP. To access the network computer, you can type \\IP address in Start menu and press Enter for a test. If it cannot find any machine, please assure the Windows 7 machine and target machine is in the same Workgroup or network, and then try following steps. a. Click Start and open Control Panel. b. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Advanced sharing settings". c.
