computer name changes to CAPS....is that normal?
OK I believe my comp has been compromised and have been investigating. Im by no means a IT pro so I wanted to run this by the community. I noticed when i changed my computer name to say "gaming" after about a day a device shows up on my network files as "GAMING" and eventually I will be locked out of the files. Is this not another computer remotely accessing mine and trying to be slick and hope i don't notice the CAPS or is there a plausible explanation I need to be aware of?

Hi,

If your computer connect to this network, and network discovery is turned on. It indeed could be seen by another computer in the same network. You didn't need to worry.  Furthermore, make sure it showing up as device not a shared folder or file named "gaming".

If you don't want other computer find you at network place, turn off the "network discovery" setting:

1. Open Network and Sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click Change advanced sharing settings.

2. Click the chevron Picture of the chevron icon to expand the current network profile.

3.Click Turn off network discovery, and then click Save changes.
