Try going into safe mode by pressing F8 in the bootscreen until you are brought to screen with boot options, use the up arrow key until you get boot windows in safe mode. Hit enter and THEN try running software, internet ETC. ALSO to GOOD free programs:Do all of this in safe mode, repost if this doesn't work.http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.phpThis will check for malware, AND registry key errors, or so most of the forums say. >.>http://superantispyware.com/You can download the free version and it will check for spyware as well. Also it never hurts to run a chkdsk.Open my computer, right click C drive, Click properties, Tools tab, Then hit check now. When the window pops up, click the two little boxes and hit start now.Young and Learning... Have Mercy

Please stop giving people advice that is harmful and wrong. You state "it never hurts to run a chkdsk" and this is incorrect. Running Chkdsk /f can destroy data on a marginal computer. In addition, running Chkdsk in any form isn't going to help the Original Poster with her problem. BTW, those files are *not* malware as a quick Google would have told you."txlisamichelle" - Those files belong to the Asus Probe software. Asus made your motherboard. If you can get into Safe Mode, uninstall the Asus Probe since it isn't necessary. To get into Safe Mode, repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This will get you to the diagnostic menu where you can use your arrow key to select "Safe Mode".If you are unable to get into Safe Mode or getting into Safe Mode and uninstalling the Asus Probe doesn't help, then you may have hardware issues. You can troubleshoot them yourself or take the computer to a reputable local professional. Don't use a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place. If you need more help from this forum, please include a description of your computer in your next post - make/model, desktop/laptop, approximate age, etc.http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_TshootMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Thank you, your advise partially solved the problem. After deleting the files per your suggestion, I was able to find the other underlying problems and repair those as well. My computer is back up and running properly. Thank you very much for your help.
