chkdsk does not work correctly
I am running Windows XP Home Edition. I had a failure and eventually ran CHKDSK without formatting. I runs rhe CHKDSK program sucessfully and restarts but then runs CHKDSK again. This goes on in an endless loop. I tried an XP Repair and Install but it stull will not clear the CHKDSK loop.I have installed the basic XP on another disk so I can get to the main disk but I would like to keep my system as it was and not reinstall all of the programs. Is there a way to turn off the CHKDSK routine on the old disk so that I can run it without reinstalling all the programs?? 1 person got this answerI do too
