chkdsk.exe thinks FAT32 is RAW
I have a USB flash drive that is FAT32. it is working fine and is not corrupt but chkdsk thinks the file system is raw. the drive letter is F: and this is what it showsC:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk F:The type of the file system is RAW.CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.C:\WINDOWS\system32>I know it is FAT32 because that is what it says in the drives properties and the drive works fine with everything else. chkdsk works fine with other FAT32 hard drives and FAT32 USB flash drives. what is wrong with chkdsk??1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi tech32, This issue may occur if the full format process cannot complete correctly. For example, this issue may occur if the cluster size that is specified for the full format is too large to format the disk. Try formatting the Flash Drive and check. For more information, see:How to use Disk Management to configure basic disks in Windows XP Also this could issue could occur if there are issues with partitioning. Delete and re-create the partition on the Flash drive from the DiskManagement. Refer the link above to do the same.
