change symbol for offline files and folders in windows explorer
Hi,is it possible to change the symbol in windows explorer for offline files and folders?currently every default icon for a file or folder is overlayed with a green arrow symbol in the lower left corner.the symbol is quiet large and hides most of the original symbol (personal opinion)in which .exe, .dll, .ico file is the symbol and can it be replaced?Best Regards,Martin

Hi Martin, I took a research on the issue. Unfortunately, I didnt find any official solution for your inquiry. Please understand that the green arrow symbol is by design, which can help us distinguish offline files from normal files. Personally, it is not recommended to modify it. For more information about offline files in Windows Vista, you can refer to the following articles: Changes to Offline Files in Windows Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc137753.aspx Tips for Using Offline Files in Vista http://cws.internet.com/article/4119-.htm Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Hi Robinson Zhang, thanks for your infos.offline files are working very well for me.in the detail view of windows explorer it's just harder to identify the file type depending on the icon.i think my approach is to look first at the icon then at the file type column.at offline files it's just hard to identify the icon behind the arrow symbol.
