Hi peaface, - Which is the antivirus application that you use?- How are you connecting to the Internet?- Which are the files that are affected? Do you know the application name of the files? Check if you are able to boot into the Safe Mode and view the desktop successfully. Hi peaface, Run an online scan for your computer from Safe Mode with Networking. Visit the following links to do the same:http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm As you can login to Safe Mode without any issues try performing System Restore from Safe Mode and check.
