In my office, about 20 laptops connect to a Minolta multifunction scanner, copier, fax. The Minolta is installed on a central Desktop, and every laptop simply has a shortcut to the scan folder on the desktop, this is where all the scanned files are stored and eveyone just goes into this folder and retrieves their own scan. When the shortcut to the scan folder was created on the laptops I could see the desktop computer (Cindy) along with all the other computers on the Network regardless of what laptop I was on, all running windows 7. So everyone has access to this scan folder, including me, however when I bring up the network on my laptop I don't see Cindy?? yet I still have access to the scan folder, which leads me to believe that both computers (Cindy and my laptop) are still connected to each other somehow, yet I cant see Cindy on the network??? I have not changed any sharing options since the shorcut was created about 2 weeks ago. So why cant I see Cindy, I have 4 new laptops that I need to give access to, but couldnt see Cindy on the network in those laptops either, so I came back to mine just to double check and to my surprise I ran into the issue mentioned above. Help, Please..............

Where are you trying to navigate to it? If you want to give access to 4 new laptops to the Scan folder, go to any computer which already has access, go to it's properties and see it's target. Copy this target and make a new shortcuts on the new laptops pointing to the same target and the new laptops should now have access to the Scan folder.
