If you do not have your windows disc follow the instructions on the link below to create a bootable recovery console disc then return here and continue with these instructions. 1. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer. If prompted to press any key to boot from a cd do so; 2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console; 3. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console; 4. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER; 5. At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r >press enter. (Note there is a space between the letter k and the forward slash). Let the scan run until completion; 6. To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.After the scan completes restart your computer. How to create a bootable windows Xp recovery console disc.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. When you attempt to boot from the disc do you see a prompt to press any key to boot from a cd? Have you checked your bios to ensure the cd rom is set to boot first? Is the disc bootable?I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/
