cannot view hardrives between vista and widows 7
I recently set up my home network between a vista machine and a Windows 7 laptop. I can see both computers on the network. I was able to view and access the public folders as well as the multimedia devices and share a printer. I can view the hardrives or specific folders that I set to be shared, the program folder for example, however I cannot access them. The folders and the hardrive appear but I get an error message that windows cannot access that folder or hardrive for the windows 7 machine and that I do not have permission to access those same files or folders on the vista machine. How do I set up the network to allow me to view all of the hardrives and specific folders of both computers.? Both computers are set to the same workgroup, all the permissions for the folders and the hardrive are set

Just a thought, did you share out the drive in the first place?

yes, I shared the entire drive as well as individual folders. I can view the hardrive, and the folders however I cannot access them on either machine. Shared folders, printers, and multimedia work fine?
