cannot see my documents folder in safe mode
I need to send my Windows 7 laptop in for repair, and am accessing the laptop hard drive using my XP Home PC to back up files. The laptop's My Documents folder is seen but grayed out after a normal boot, and I cannot access it to copy files. When I boot into safe mode to take control over the folder, it's not visible, but all the other are. Any advice is very welcome, thanks.Charles1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, In Windows XP the directory structure is different when compared to Windows 7. In Windows XP the place where the documents are stored is in Documents and Settings, whereas, in Windows 7 there is no Documents and Settings, the files are saved in User folder, i.e. C:\Users\{your_username}\Documents. Check there and you will find the documents folder. For more details check the link mentioned below ‘Where do I find common folders in Windows 7’.Where are my files and folders after upgrading from Windows XP or Windows Vista?http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Where-are-my-files-and-folders-after-upgrading-from-Windows-XP-or-Windows-Vista Thank you and Regards.
