cannot manage local user accounts (security log event 4625 null SID)
Installed Vista. Then ran Easy Transfer to transfer settings. When I am logged in as an administrator and I try to do certain actions, such as manage user accounts or add a new user account locally, it fails silently, after requesting administrative privileges. Most other administrative actions (such as disk administration etc.) work fine.An event is recorded in the security event log with ID 4625, indicating that the particular user has a null SID. I can't find anything about this through a Google search or search of MS sites.I now have no users which have enough administrative access to create new users and am therefore kind of stuck. Thoughts, workarounds, ideas? Thanks,Moray

First disable UAC 1. start 2. Control Panel 3. User Accounts 4. Turn User Accounts Off reboot to safe mode (F8 at Hardware Boot) and add the user in Safe Mode Reboot normally then turn UAC back on. M
