cannot connect to internet..im using windows 7 OS
please help.. my brother just bought a laptop last november 2009 is a windows 7 Home premium HP Paviliondv6 notebook,intel core2 duo T6600 @2.20ghz,4.0 gb....he was ok connecting to the net,but now its all messed up he cant even connect to ym..please help..what should i do?

Do a ipconfig and post the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway here. Next trying pinging the default gateway and see how it goes. Btw when you mention you can't connect to the net, is through wireless or cable? Have you try connecting directly with a ethernet cable instead of wireless
