cannot connect to an already created home group
have two computers, laptop wirelessly connected via an ag1240 WAP to my server which is hard wired to the net.there are two network adapters in the server unit, one connects to the internet via broadband modem and is shared the other leads to a hub and connected to the hub is the WAP.i have internet connection wirelessly but am asked for a username and password to access or map any drives!i have passworded sharing disabled and my vista netbook connects and maps without issue!however my laptop with WRC1 installed can see the homegroup but wont allow connectionran all trouble shooters, synced clocks nothing anyone help?

Do any of the computers have a password set?

If you make the username and password on both match it SHOULD work easier.

changed both user names and passwords still no good

Had same problem for months, and never fixed. This worked for me. I disabled the wireless in the laptop and pluged in the wired cable to the router and joined the homegroup. Soon as I joined I enabled the wireless and disconnectd the wired. For some reason ever few months I have to do this.
