cannot access network servers or pcs

Hi!

One of our windows 8.1 clients is unable to access network servers or pcs by using \\server1 or \\192.168.1.1 in the run menu. When we restart the client it starts working but after some time it starts getting this problem again then we have to restart again.

The domain controller is windows 2008 R2.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi Create_share,

Did the issue occur before or when did the issue start to occur ?Have you got any error messages ?
Can we ping the server both with the name and the IP address ?Will the machine still get internet access ?

We can try the following solutions to have a check:
1.Reinstall the network adapter driver from the device manager to have a check .
2.Run the built-in troubleshoot tool to have a diagnostic :
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet\Network Adapter
3.Run the following command line to reset the TCP/IP stack
ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
Reboot

Please also check the Event VIewer for error messages to troubleshoot this issue.
Event Viewer\Windows Logs \Application ,System

Best regards
