If you have valid license for Windows 8.1 Enterprise, then you could just enter the valid product key in your trial version or ask your IT department to assign the key to your PC.

Yes you can do this, provided you have a valid key.

Open a elevated command prompt.

Type slui.exe

enter key. (remember to connect to internet)

No, you cannot upgrade from the Windows 8.1 Enterprise 90 Day Evaluation to a full version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise. The excerpt from the Windows 8.1 Enterprise 90 Day Evaluation page states under Activation and Usage Guidance:

Following the evaluation period, you will need to replace the operating system on your test computer and reinstall all your programs and data. It is not possible to upgrade the evaluation to a licensed working version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise. A clean installation is required.

yes you can. Only what you need to do is to change windows version in registry. After that you can add win 8.1 Enterprise DVD and perform an upgrade.

      Sorry, but that is not true.  Please to do offer dubious unsupported hacks in an attempt to circumvent Microsoft's software licensing agreements.

It is true, i did it on 2 computers in a row with licenced!!!!!! KMS in our corporation. By the way it is not a hack it is a workaround because it is easily to fix. Some of our costumers had same issues because they had a lot of installed apps and  certs they installed in 3 months. Reinstallation and working with installations and settings should take a lot of time although using wizards and stuff. 

Unfortunatelly people on developing side of work really dont have time for these things. 

M$ should be so nice to people who bought true licences. They should do these things with easily upgrade or inserting product keys and not with these "official" statements with "fresh install". 

Fresh install should be use for people who upgrades their pcs from vista or w7. 

M$ is a bloatware.  And this is fact and my statement.

Skip Product Key Input in Windows 8.1 Setup

To achieve our objective, we need to edit the ei.cfg (edition configuration) file present inside the /sources folder of the ISO image. All we need to do is to provide the version details inside this file so that Windows Setup is not needed to ask for a product key to install the appropriate version relevant to that product key.

1. If you are going to install Windows 8.1 using a USB drive, transfer the installation files to the USB and then proceed to step 2. On the other hand if you need to create a DVD, open the ISO using a utility such as MagicISO so that the structure is not affected.
2. Browse to the /sources folder.
3. Look for the ei.cfg file and open it in a text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++ (preferred). If the file doesnt already exist, create a new text document and rename it as ei.cfg
4. Now amend the file depending on the version which is included in your particular copy and the version which you want to install. For Professional edition which will be the best bet for most of the users, paste the following context into the ei.cfg file. Make sure that anything that already exists in the file should be cleared first.

   Professional
   [Channel]
   Retail
   [VL]
   0

5. Save the file and run the Windows 8.1 setup again. The setup will not ask for the Product Key anymore.

This is not a hack or anything illegal. The configuration above is supported by Windows installer and is well documented by Microsoft and can also be used on some other versions of Windows as well.

While it is patently stupid for Microsoft to make it HARD for customers to use their products (maybe this is why Apple is popular?), there are solutions.  on the Ultimate Eval, I downloaded the installation helper and was able to get that started.  Just open it up, enter your key and off you go...

And guess what?  You end up with a brand-new and shiny OS - that looks a lot like the old one except that it's licensed.  Honestly, if it weren't for SQLServer and .NET...

You can upgrade your Windows 8.1 trial to Windows 10 with your License Key of Windows 10. 

i did it right now. maybe your need to change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EditionID to Enterprise
