Hi, Base on my research, wininit.exe is a system built-in file. Actually, it is called "Windows Start-Up Application" and exists under Windows\System32. I would like to know why you want to close it? Is there any error message received? If so, please give us more detail information about this. Hope this helps. Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
